Working principle of oxygen compressor

An oxygen compressor is a compressor used to pressurize and deliver oxygen. The basic working principle of an oil-free reciprocating piston high-pressure oxygen compressor is as follows: the rotational energy output from the electric motor is transmitted to the compressor's crankshaft via a V-belt. The crankshaft rotates, and the connecting rod connected to the crankshaft crankpin converts this rotational motion into reciprocating linear motion of the crosshead fixed to the small end of the connecting rod. The piston rod on the crosshead drives the piston to circulate linearly within the cylinder, forming a periodically changing sealed space with the valve, thereby compressing and pressurizing the gas medium.

Oil-free reciprocating piston compressors have a relatively simple structure, lower maintenance costs, a service life that meets user requirements, and relatively low vibration and noise. Diaphragm compressors have extremely high airtightness and are suitable for applications requiring extremely high purity, but their complex structure and the presence of an oil supply system increase the complexity of the compressor, making maintenance and upkeep more difficult and expensive. Furthermore, the use of refrigerant oil results in a higher initial investment and subsequent maintenance costs. Therefore, the selection of a high-pressure oxygen compressor should be based on specific circumstances and requirements.
