A diaphragm compressor is a special type of positive displacement compressor characterized by its high compression ratio, excellent sealing, and protection against contamination from lubricating oil and other solid impurities. Therefore, it is suitable for compressing high-purity, rare, valuable, flammable, explosive, toxic, corrosive, and high-pressure gases. Key features of diaphragm compressors include high-purity gas handling, excellent sealing, high compression ratio, strong media adaptability, relatively low maintenance costs, low noise, good reliability, wide pressure range, and flexible discharge capacity.
Because the diaphragm completely isolates the gas from the mechanical components, zero contamination of the compressed medium is ensured. Simultaneously, its leak-free design effectively prevents the leakage of toxic, flammable, explosive, and corrosive gases. Diaphragm compressors can achieve high compression ratios, typically reaching 1:100 or even higher, with single-stage pressure ratios up to 25. Their pressure range is extensive, covering everything from low pressure to ultra-high pressure; for example, an ultra-high-pressure diaphragm compressor with a discharge pressure of 320 MPa has been developed in China. This equipment can handle a variety of gaseous media, including inert gases, corrosive gases, toxic gases, flammable and explosive gases, and radioactive gases.
